The vehicle has a factory signal processor that includes not only fade and balance but also a presence adjustment that relies on all speakers having a separate lead from the amp, so the only option aside from somehow adding 4 Ohm amps appears to be the resistors. I wish that I could grasp what is happening with the resistors. It is interesting to learn that no matter where they are placed the result is the same. With no background in electronics, it seems that if the resistors are on the negative terminal of the speaker, the additional power and unfettered signal would first pass through the 4 Ohm speakers and then be converted to heat by the resistors after the speaker to make the 8 Ohm impedance match.

I have a much better understanding of ohm cooking. I have two combo amps. One is a Fender Superchamp X2. The one speaker out jack that the internal speaker is connected to says Minimum 8 ohms. The other amp is a Vox AC10 with a speaker out jack of 16 ohm. I found the Bugera TS On the back it has a 4ohm mono jack and a 16ohm mono jack.

November 20, I have a receiver that has a 2nd zone output. Can I run that output into the input of your unit and then connect speakers to 3 separate rooms. I realize the source would be the same for all 3 rooms. What is the wiring configuration for the volume controls? Assuming your receiver is a 7. This would be a powered output speaker level using the internal amplifier.
The second option would be a 2nd zone pre-amplifier signal level output that connects with RCA cables. In either case, the AMP featured in the kit has the ability to be connected either speaker level or signal level. If you have both choices available on your receiver, the optimum one would be the pre-amplified signal level. This will be important when you connect to the three zones you plan on using.
